House cleaning extras: booking inside the oven, fridge and cabinets
Before booking house cleaning, ask whether appliance and cabinet interiors are included, optional or excluded. “Kitchen cleaning” doesn't necessarily include an oven interior, a stocked refrigerator or every cupboard. Agree on the tasks and preparation before the team arrives so the booked time matches the work.

Name the inside work separately
List the oven, refrigerator and cabinets as individual requests. Say whether the home is occupied, being vacated or awaiting move-in. Share the condition honestly, including heavy buildup or a long-unused appliance, without assuming a normal cleaning visit can address every problem.
For built-in or specialty appliances, provide the model or care instructions if available. The cleaner should use methods suitable for the finish and components.
Confirm the preparation and limits
| Task | Questions before the visit |
|---|---|
| Refrigerator interior | Who removes food, drawers and shelves? |
| Oven interior | Which surfaces are included and which cleaning methods are permitted? |
| Cabinet interiors | Must shelves be empty, and who handles contents? |
| Freezer | Is defrosting needed, and who is responsible? |
| Appliance movement | Is moving the unit excluded or separately arranged? |
Don't ask a cleaner to disconnect gas, plumbing or electrical connections as an assumed housekeeping task. Appliance repair and hazardous contamination need a different scope.
Plan where food and belongings will go
Arrange safe food storage before the visit and ask how long the appliance will be unavailable. Don't assume the team supplies coolers or decides which food to discard.
For cabinets, remove fragile or valuable items yourself unless handling has been agreed. Label any area that should remain untouched. A clear preparation plan lets the cleaner work on surfaces rather than spending the appointment reorganizing possessions.
Get the price and completion standard in writing
Ask whether extras are fixed-price or time-based and what level of buildup the price assumes. Clarify what happens if the task needs more time or isn't suitable for the proposed method.
At the walkthrough, check the agreed surfaces before restocking. Cleaning can't guarantee removal of permanent staining, damaged finishes or worn coatings. If something remains, ask whether it is residue, damage or outside the scope.
Use the deep-versus-standard cleaning guide and first-visit preparation checklist. To request a DFW quote, list each interior task and your move or occupancy date. Confirm availability and inclusions directly before booking.
